Welcome to HAPS

Welcome to the Hadley Angling and Preservation Society web site. HAPS Is a small, friendly club that was formed in 1982 to control fishing at Jack's Lake in Hadley Woods, Barnet, Hertfordshire and arrange matches and coach outings for club members.

Angling

Jack's Lake, BarnetThe lake now provides 44 pegs, 27 of which are fishable on a day ticket, the remainder being available only to club members. The main species are carp (to 26lb), bream (to 7lb), and roach. There are also tench (6lb), chub (4lb), pike (14lb), rudd, gudgeon and very occasional eels and barbel. Matches are generally won with over 10lbs, but pleasure sessions usually produce much higher weights of mixed fish and those targeting carp generally have multiple catches.

Preservation

As our Fishery is open to all, we do ask that everyone looks after their surroundings and treats any wildlife or plantlife with care whilst they are fishing. HAPS regularly organises works parties to maintain the fishery and its environment.

The price of a day ticket is £6 per rod, or £3 for concessionary tickets. Membership initially costs just £50 and then £40 per annum thereafter. You can visit our Membership page or contact our Club Secretary for more information. Peter Roll - Club Chairman
