FISHERY RULES (Jacks Lake)

  • CONDUCT

    (a) All anglers must fish to the standard required by the Environment

    Agency

    (b) No members or other persons shall light fires, cut down trees or destroy

    hedges or shrubs (except under the guidance of a committee member or

    bailiff) damage fences or banks etc.

    (c) Litter of any kind must not be left on the banks of any water or any part

    of the fishery concerned. All members and anglers will be responsible to

    the Club for removing all litter of any kind from the swims they are

    fishing regardless of the responsibility for the depositing of the litter.

    (d) No firearms to be allowed on or in the surrounding area of fishery

    (except if authorised by the Committee.

    (e) No angler may leave unattended tackle with baited hook.

    (f) No gaffs allowed on fishery.

    (g) No digging for bait.

    (h) Keepnets are only allowed on the Lake on club-endorsed matches

    (i) Lead free shot weight only to be used.

    (j) Barbless hooks only to be used. Maximum size hook No. 6. Minimum of

    5lb breaking strain line to be used when specimen fishing.

    (k) Unhooking mats to be used when specimen fishing.

    (l) All members must have and use landing nets.

    (m) All members must take excess bait away from the fishery. No fish live

    bait. Blood worm, joker are banned from matches.

    (o) Access to and fishing in the members end is only permitted between

    Dawn and Dusk (accept with the express permission of the committee).

    Anyone found in the members' end outside of these times will be

    suspended:

    (p) Night fishing for Full members only on main lake.

    (q) Juniors must be accompanied by an adult member when fishing the

    members' end.

    (r) No fishing in between pegs.

    (s) No camping or tents (biveys are allowed but not in the members end).

    (t) The maximum stay for any angler on Jack's Lake is 48 Hours.

    (u) Boats can only be used on the lake with the approval of the committee.

    Life Jackets or Life Preservers must be worn on any boat used on Jacks

    Lake

    (v) No swimming is permitted in the Lake

    FISHERY CARDS AND PERMITS

    (a) Members and other anglers may only fish if the current fishery card or

    day-ticket and Environment Agency rod licence (for all rods used) is

    produced when requested

    (b) All members, wardens or bailiffs are empowered to request the

    production of the membership card, day ticket or Environment Agency

    rod licence or other means of identification.

    REMOVAL OF FISH

    (a) No fish to be taken away from any fishery under any circumstances

    except on official netting parties with appropriate Environment Agency

    paperwork.

    THE CLUB SHALL ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR

    THE LOSS OF TACKLE, PERSONAL EFFECTS, INJURY OR

    DEATH

    (a) Members and visitors entering the Club water or Monken Hadley

    Common, Monken Hadley, London Borough of Barnet do so entirely at

    their own risk.

    (b) Members and visitors are bound by the rules of the Club and the Club

    will not be liable to any member or visitor or their estates for death, any

    personal injury sustained by them, or for the loss of any property.

    (c) Members and visitors fishing other venues accessible through do so

    entirely at their own risk and the Club will not be liable to any member

    or visitor or their estates for death, any personal injury sustained by

    them, or for the loss of any property. Other venues rules and regulations

    take precedent over Club rules.No Litter! Please take all your rubbish home

 
 

Pike & Perch Fishing

  • Spinning is only allowed between 1st October and 31st March.

  • There is no live baiting, although dead baiting is allowed, but only if commercially purchased bait.

Regular inspections will be carried out by bailiffs (and members).

Any person(s) found contravening these rules face expulsion from the fishery and with possible disciplinary action taken if a HAPS member.
